In November, the Propylene and Ethylene Oxide Sector Groups organised Workshops in Bojnice, Slovakia and in Bucharest, Romania entitled “Safety at work – how to better handle PO and EO in transport and operations”.

Each workshop brought together over 20 local experts from chemical and logistics companies. The meeting was an opportunity to present the tools that Ethylene Oxide, Propylene Oxide and Phenol-Acetone-Cumene sector groups of Cefic have developed to help users comply with the highest level of safety health and environmental standards. Among them are the guidelines for the distribution of propylene oxide, ethylene oxide and Phenol  that are available on Petrochemicals Europe’s website. The Workshop also gave an overview of EU emergency schemes for EO and PO with concrete examples from France.
