The EU chemical industry regains confidence following the overall economic recovery

A slight deceleration to around 2% is foreseen for 2018. Petrochemicals still account for over one quarter of EU chemical sales and exports. Responsible for 1.1% of the EU’s GDP and employing 1.2 million people, the EU chemical industry supplies virtually all sectors of the economy and is the third largest investor in EU manufacturing industries.
