Higher octane fuels: Powering a sustainable future
Higher performing fuels can increase fuel efficiency by up to 30% and reduce VOC (volatile organic compounds) emissions by up to 15% in a cost-effective way. Internal combustion engines (ICEs) will continue to have an undeniable role to play in the future, thanks to their cost, performance, efficiency and competitiveness over other alternatives. High quality fuels can help passenger cars reach EU and national legislative targets. They can directly improve the efficiency of today’s engines, and are compatible with existing infrastructure.
Higher-octane petrol could also boost sales of cars equipped with alternative powertrains such as hybrid cars. It helps increase the fuel efficiency and emission reduction potential of hybrid engines, making them more attractive for consumers.
