European chemical industry benefits from global economic growth

The EU chemical industry continues to grow in 2018 benefiting from a positive global and European economic context. Production increased by 2.6% from January to February 2018 compared to the same period last year, although, production in the petrochemicals sector decreased slightly. In addition, producer prices were 3% above the previous year’s level in the EU chemicals sector from January to February 2018 and petrochemicals’ prices rose significantly compared to the other sectors.
