Hydrogen

In the RED III legislative proposal, a target of use of minimum of 50 % of RFNBO’s (renewable fuel from non-biological origin, i.e. hydrogen made from water electrolysis or fuels made with this hydrogen) is proposed on total hydrogen used by industry (excluding the part that is used by refineries to produce fuels).

Cefic and Petrochemicals Europe are currently evaluating what this target means for the chemical/petrochemical industry to develop an advocacy position on this target.
