EEPC workshop on turnarounds

In February, the European Ethylene Producers Committee (EEPC) organized a Workshop in Barcelona dedicated to the latest safety and quality innovations in turnarounds. The event brought together over 75 delegates from EEPC member companies and 20 sponsors from 10 sponsoring companies.

This year’s Workshop revolved around five main topics: permits, mobile solutions, inspection techniques, cleaning techniques and scaffolding.

Five members of the EEPC organizing committee were in charge of addressing one of the different topics. They gave a brief overview of the past and recent developments related to the topic. Two representatives of the sponsors gave more details on the latest innovations that they had developed in this field.

Three breakout sessions were also organized on avoiding cutting a wrong pipe, avoiding incidents at start-up, incidents related to chemical cleaning during which participants could share experience related to safety issues during turnarounds.
