Cefic chemical library helps track and monitor regulatory developments
The Chemical library is a documents’ dispatching service provided to all Cefic staff and members who have subscribed to it. Its main goal is to alert users when a chemical is under scrutiny by an EU or intergovernmental authority like the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) or the OECD and to monitor any substance development.
The system scans any document containing a chemical substance with a Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) number. It identifies the people for whom these substances are of “interest” and dispatches the document to them together with the list of substances it contains. It is a two-way process, since the people who receive the documents are responsible for monitoring them and notifying any substance development to Cefic staff and members. The database includes already over 30.000 entries and major Sector Groups/Associations have subscribed to it.
If you want to subscribe to the chemical library, please submit your substances including CAS numbers and the Sector Group/Association/Company you belong to Gerson Martin (gma@cefic.be, +32 2 792 7514).
